Apprenticeships are really important to Housing Plus Group, which is why we’ve committed to creating 100 new apprenticeships in our business and with our partners in our first five years as an expanded group operating across Staffordshire and Shropshire.  

An apprenticeship with Housing Plus Group is highly prized. Not only does it offer the opportunity to earn while you learn but our apprentices also know there are fantastic career opportunities at the end of their training. 

Nathan Gregson, 21, has been taking part in an apprenticeship with Property Plus. He has now completed his training and is celebrating the offer of a permanent position on the bathroom installation team.  

“I started a two-year apprenticeship but like everything else, it was affected by the pandemic. I should have completed it in 2020 but now I’ve finally finished all the training and college work. I was really pleased to be offered a permanent job and can’t wait to get started! 

“An apprenticeship was the right choice for me. I was able to experience different areas of work and learned a huge amount from the people I worked with, as well as through my college course. I particularly liked being part of the bathroom installation team because there are so many different skills involved and so much to learn – it’s not just fitting a new bathroom suite, you need to know about plumbing and tiling, too.”  

Nathan is just waiting for final confirmation of successful completion of his college course before he joins the planned team on a permanent basis. A development plan has already been put in place, so that within 12 months he will be a fully-fledged bathroom fitter in his own right.  

“I enjoy what I’m doing and there’s added job satisfaction knowing that we’re making a positive difference,” he says. “Customers love their new bathrooms. We’re improving homes and making people happy.”
