Boost for fund that’s supporting communities

One of our construction partners has provided a welcome boost to an initiative that’s benefiting communities served by Housing Plus Group.

Our Community Fund supports a range of projects across Staffordshire and Shropshire, and it recently welcomed a £250 donation from the company building a landmark project in Stafford.

Barnfield Construction is currently on site at a development located on the corner of Riverway and Lammascote Road, which will provide 80 one- and two-bedroomed apartments.

Built on behalf of Stafford and Rural Homes, which is now part of Housing Plus Group, the new homes are located on a key gateway to the town and when finished will be available for affordable rent for people aged 55-plus.

The donation is being made by Barnfield Construction’s site manager after his team scooped the company’s Best Site Award and chose the Community Fund as the beneficiary of the £250 prize.

Since it was founded our Community Fund has been used to help groups and individuals that share our vision of making a positive difference to homes, lives and communities.

The generous donation by the Barnfield Construction team was welcomed by Jan Goode, Neighbourhoods Director at Housing Plus Group, who said the money will provide a real boost to our plans to further support the communities we serve.

It comes as this prestigious development in Stafford enters the final stages of construction, with a completion date expected in late spring 2021.

The partnership with the construction firm is helping Housing Plus Group, following its merger with SARH, to fulfil its ambitious pledge to start to build 2,000 much-needed new homes, helping to tackle the national housing crisis.
