Triple award success for Housing Plus Group

Housing and care provider Housing Plus Group has three reasons to celebrate this week, with the publication of the shortlist for the national Housing Heroes Awards. The group, which has customers in Staffordshire and Shropshire, is among the finalists in three award categories.

Group member Care Plus has been recognised for its At Home service, supporting older people who want to continue living independently, in their own homes. Its dedicated carers – famously seen digging their way through snowdrifts to reach customers this winter – are finalists for the Support and Care Team of the Year award.

In the twelve months following merger Property Plus took sweeping steps to ensure that all of the group’s customers receive the same quality of service and equally high assurances of safety, wherever they live. Property Plus is one of the finalists for the Development or Maintenance Team of the Year title.

The Housing Plus Group communication team is also in line for an award. The shortlisting recognises its success sharing crucial messages about services for customers, including making sure that people in Shropshire were made aware of the launch of a new at home care facility. The team has been shortlisted in the Communications Team of the Year category.

“The Housing Heroes Awards showcase the very best in the sector. Hundreds of nominations are made each year and we are very proud to be shortlisted in three categories,” said Housing Plus Group chief executive Sarah Boden. “I’m particularly pleased because these categories go straight to the heart of the service we provide to customers – the care and support we provide, the way that we look after their homes and the quality of our communication with them.

“At a time of rent reduction and welfare reform, all housing associations are striving to do more with less. We have worked hard to maintain services for customers and communities and this success recognises the dedication and commitment of all those colleagues who come to work each day determined to make a difference.”

The winners of the Housing Heroes Awards 2018 will be announced in Manchester in June.
