Nominations and renumeration committeee

The responsibilities of the nominations and remuneration committee include:

  • Overseeing employment issues across the Group including staff and board recruitment
  • Overseeing terms and conditions, pensions strategy and HR policy implementation

The nominations and remuneration committee report directly to the Housing Plus Group board.

Gareth EvansChair

A retired banking professional, Gareth worked in the banking industry for 42 years principally at Barclays Bank where he was a Corporate Manager. Gareth has particular expertise in business funding with considerable experience in funding residential and commercial property development. He joined the Severnside Board in December 2013.

Catherine DassCommittee member

Catherine is an organisational development professional specialising in executive coaching.  She has worked in senior positions in the housing sector for over 17 years assisting them with her extensive experience and skills in HR, learning, employee engagement, performance and business improvement and transformation, governance and compliance, marketing communications and diversity and inclusion. 
 
Currently executive director of business improvement at Platform Housing Group, Catherine has a real passion for developing businesses and leadership development. She holds a Fellowship of the CIPD, a Level 7 qualification in executive coaching and mentoring and is she is also MBTI 1 and 2 qualified.  
 
Catherine, is committed to assisting the sector to improve lives for customers. “Housing is a fundamental need and when it’s quality and sustainable it makes the most significant difference to quality of life, wellbeing and opportunities. I want to use my skills, personal strengths and experience within the housing sector to ensure that we deliver excellent services that meet our customers’ needs.”
 

Tim HarrisCommittee member

Tim has 46 years' experience in social housing and previously worked as chief executive for Berneslai Homes, deputy director of housing for Stoke-on-Trent City Council and assistant director rents and revenues for Barnsley MBC to name a few. 

He has extensive experience in the public sector, social housing, property and housing management, audit and risk management.

Alison HaddenCommittee member

With over 30 years in the housing sector having previously worked for a number of large housing associations culminating in eight years as Chief Executive of Paradigm Housing, Alison has considerable expertise in all aspects of housing.

Whilst at Paradigm, the Development programme grew to over 800 homes per annum and she successfully set up an internal Repairs and Maintenance contracting business employing over 100 technicians.

Specialising in Governance and change management Alison is now a successful interim assisting organisations who find themselves in challenging situations. She believes that a decent, affordable, permanent home is a basic right that everyone should have. 

Sarah BodenChief executive

Beginning her career as a housing officer, working to ease homelessness, Sarah now has over 30 years' housing sector experience. Sarah was chief executive at Severnside for over 10 years, and under her leadership Severnside grew to become a successful, financially strong and diverse organisation. 

Sarah was appointed chief executive of the Housing Plus Group in 2016. She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Housing, the NHF West Midlands Regional Committee and Chair of Shropshire Registered Social Landlord Forum.
