Nominations and renumeration committeee

The responsibilities of the nominations and remuneration committee include:

  • Overseeing employment issues across the Group including staff and board recruitment
  • Overseeing terms and conditions, pensions strategy and HR policy implementation

The nominations and remuneration committee report directly to the Housing Plus Group board.

Gareth EvansChair

A retired banking professional, Gareth worked in the banking industry for 42 years principally at Barclays Bank where he was a Corporate Manager. Gareth has particular expertise in business funding with considerable experience in funding residential and commercial property development.

He joined the Severnside Board in December 2013.

Rolf Levesley

A former solicitor, Rolf dedicated his professional life to local government, becoming Chief Executive of South Staffordshire Council until his retirement in 2009. Chairing the board of South Staffordshire Housing Association (SSHA) since 2010, Rolf also sits on the board of Housing Plus Group. He chairs the charity Friends of Conarky Refuge School and is vice chair of Shropshire Community NHS Trust.

Rolf’s interest in housing began when he helped negotiate the transfer of housing stock from South Staffordshire Council to the newly-formed SSHA in 1997. He has a fundamental belief in the importance of providing affordable homes for local people and the best possible care for older residents.

Rory O'Byrne

Rory is a partner at Wace Morgan solicitors in Shrewsbury and is a Social Housing and Development specialist.

He focuses upon residential development and has over twelve years’ experience in delivering social housing, strategic land acquisition, stock transfers and regeneration projects for housing associations, local authorities and the private sector.

Rory joined the Severnside Board in 2010 and was appointed to the Homes Board in 2016.

Catherine Dass

Catherine has worked in the housing sector for over 15 years and has extensive experience and skills in HR, business development and transformation, marketing communications and diversity and inclusion.

Currently Director of people and performance at Fortis Living, Catherine has a real passion for executive level coaching, holding a Level 7 qualification in executive coaching and is MBTI qualified.
