Volunteer Lynn lends a helping hand

In recognition of Volunteers’ Week 2017 Housing Plus Group is taking the opportunity to celebrate the people who make a difference in our communities.

Kind-hearted Lynn Young, of Cheslyn Hay, volunteers at the craft club held at our retirement living community Vine Court in Cannock. Lynn helps residents with activities including painting, drawing and creating keepsakes.

“I’ve only been volunteering for three weeks so I’m still very new to it,” said Lynn when we caught up with her to thank her for her help.

“My friend lives in Vine Court and I was visiting when I heard about the craft club. My husband had passed away and I thought this would be a really good way for me to spend time with people, make some new friends and do something really useful.”

Lynn’s generosity doesn’t stop there: “I love it. I’ve already said to the staff at Vine Court that if there are any other volunteering opportunities, I’m happy to get involved. I like helping people.”
