Triple success for housing association
Good things come in threes for Housing Plus Group, which has been shortlisted for three top prizes in the Midlands Business Awards.
The Group, formed just twelve months ago through the merger of Severnside Housing with Staffordshire-based Housing Plus, is one of the front runners in the Corporate Commitment to the Community and Service Provider of the Year award categories. Neighbourhoods director Jan Goode is also a finalist for the Business Person of the Year award.
“Three is certainly a crowd when it comes to these awards,” said deputy chief executive Philip Ingle. “Recognition here in the Midlands means a great deal for our organisation which is dedicated to making a difference in local communities. We are delighted to have been shortlisted for three awards which underline the exceptional work of dedicated colleagues in every part of our new group.”
Relief of homelessness, support for people to live independently, programmes to help customers back into work and widespread investment to improve homes and neighbourhoods were just some of the reasons why Housing Plus Group has been shortlisted for the Corporate Commitment to the Community Award.
Recognition in the Service Provider of the Year category acknowledges the high levels of customer satisfaction achieved by repairs and maintenance teams working for Property Plus, which has reshaped its delivery to protect services despite rent reduction.
Director Jan Goode was named finalist in the Business Person of the Year category in recognition of her innovative approach and strong risk management at a time of changing regulation and welfare reform.
The winners of the Midlands Business Awards will be announced in February.
