Party time at The Sandford
A hugely successful overseas recruitment campaign at the Care Plus nursing home, The Sandford in Church Stretton, has been marked in an International Day filled with singing, dancing, food and laughter.
Guest speakers spoke of nurses and care workers from all corners of the globe joining a team which is known for its happiness as well as its dedication.
Residents and staff got together in a lounge decorated with colourful flags, maps and balloons to celebrate our new colleagues and recognise the warm welcome they have received. Making the occasion extra-special, some of our new nurses and carers changed out of their uniforms and into their national dress.
The skilled catering team at The Sandford had created a celebratory buffet featuring party food with a distinctly international flavour, with some delicious dishes contributed by colleagues keen to create a flavour of their home nations.
“It was a day to say ‘thank you’, to our new colleagues for joining us and to the longstanding members of The Sandford family, for giving them such a great welcome and helping them settle in,” said Les Clarke, Executive director of housing and care. “I know that our residents had a wonderful time and I was so pleased to be part of a very special day.”
