This Safeguarding Adults Week, we’re reminding customers and colleagues to Speak Up

This year’s theme for Safeguarding adults’ week (18 – 22 November) is Working in Partnership and as hosts of the week, Ann Craft Trust are encouraging people to look, listen and ask. 

Kevin Davies, Head of neighbourhoods and member of our Safeguarding committee, said “The safety of our customers, colleagues and their families is always a key priority as a caring social landlord. We’re joining this nationwide campaign because we want to remind customers and colleagues where to go for help and advice if they have a safeguarding concern. 

“Details of how to contact local Safeguarding Boards are shared on our websites, and we regularly remind our colleagues and customers that they don’t have to be convinced to Speak Up, just concerned. 

“We already have a safeguarding policy and procedure in place, but we’ll soon be sharing a new version of this which gives even more focus on our part in keeping children and adults safe. 

“We also formed a safeguarding committee in 2018 that I’m proud to be a member of. We meet every month to reflect on any safeguarding referrals we have received and make sure that we are continuously making recommendations for improvement. 

“Safeguarding training is also mandatory for all our colleagues, no matter their job role, to make sure that we are confident in recognising and responding to signs of abuse and neglect”.
